Important deadlines

Registration: December 15, 2013 (extended from previous date)

Note: Small sum (maximum $250 per school) can be transferred to schools that desire to hire a PTT to work with students on their research papers (e.g., review the APA format and working drafts, suggest ideas for students to polish up the final draft for submission). You may want to recruit an English teacher who has an interest in culinary. Please contact your respective district resource teacher as soon as possible, but no later than January 10, 2014, to start the BUD-3 (transfer of funds) paperwork.

Online written exam: February 3-6, 2014
This exam will have 50 questions each covering both PHS Core and Culinary I standards:

Please ensure that your computer facility is set up for the testing. Please note the fifth bullet point about student log-in and password information.

Other Important Details:
Subs: Use Prog ID 15849 for your subs. Schools will be reimbursed for direct cost of subs to enable culinary teachers to accompany their students to the PBA event in Kona. Use this form to request reimbursement not later than March 14, 2014 (last day before Spring Break).
West HI Sub Request Form culinary

Included in the event budget are hotel accommodations (the night of March 7) for all participating students and teachers from both East and West Districts. Understandably, it is on shared (four students/room; two teachers/room) basis, and some schools will have to mix. Teachers desiring a single room will have to pay the difference ($75) directly to the hotel.

East Hawai`i schools should contact Dan Banks if they need assistance with ground transportation.
