This document is produced (2012) by the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical education Consortium (NASDCTEc). Dan Banks shared the document and some of his thoughts on its potentials:
Common Career Technical Core CTE standards 11-5-12
- The attached document is aligned to 16 federal career pathways, not 6 as in Hawaii.
- As you consider your teaching of projects and units—not to mention pacing guides—these standards might be helpful to you.
- It also contains the “12 Career Ready Practices” which are very much like our GLO’s—again, a little more expansive. (see pages 2 & 3)
- On the standards, [the document] does not have any “benchmarks” as refined descriptors or explanations of concepts. Yet, … you may find it useful as you plan projects and engaged learning activities to assist you in assessing and gauging student understanding.
