Social-Emotional Learning: States Collaborate to Craft Standards, Policies
A good read as we prepare for Hawaii’s blueprint for the new federal education law: Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) which “places a greater emphasis on non-academic concepts and ‘whole child’ issues.”

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) “emphasizes nurturing concepts like students’ relational skills, decisionmaking, and self-management to help foster greater life success both inside and outside the classroom.”
