Opportunities for Students Interested in Health Sciences

Check out these two services provided by the UH JABSOM’s AHEC (Area Health Education Center) program:
The Hawaii Pre-Health Career Corps is a free year-round program for high school and undergraduate students who are interested in health careers. Students participate in career awareness workshops, campus field trips, mentoring, research experiences, job shadowing, and test preparation workshops. Students also receive one-on-one health career counseling, monthly e-newsletters, and assistance with the admissions process, including mock interviews, personal statement assistance, and resume/CV building. The Corps is a program of the Hawaii/Pacific Basin Area Health Education Center, located at the John A. Burns School of Medicine. The Hawaii Speakers Bureau is comprised of over 100 health professionals across the state who are interested in speaking to students about their jobs and career paths. There is no charge for the service. Educators can request a speaker at http://www.ahec.hawaii.edu/request-a-speaker/  Please allow us at least 2 weeks notice and we will arrange the rest. The Hawaii Speakers Bureau is a program of the Hawaii/Pacific Basin Area Health Education Center, located at the John A. Burns School of Medicine.
