Through the efforts of Leeward Community College’s Assistant Professor for Business Warren Kawano and Dean of CTE Ron Umehiro, the Hawaii Association of Career & Technical Education (HI ACTE) is once again affiliated with the national body. What does this connection mean? HI ACTE members will have access “to the national association’s extensive professional development resources, public policy advocacy and leadership opportunities. The partnership will strengthen ACTE’s ability to connect with CTE stakeholders in Hawaii, and give HI ACTE members a louder voice in national policy discussions.”
Association for Career & Technical Education
To start off, HI ACTE is coordinating a Statewide CTE conference on November 9, 2017. Early Bird registration (by July 31, 2017) is $75/person; $100/person afterwards.
Neighbor Island participants will receive air and ground support through the Office of the State Director of Career & Technical Education (OSDCTE). Stay tuned for more details.
